One of the difficult parts in baking chocolate goods is making sure the chocolate is melted the right way in the shortest amount of time. How do you melt chocolate the easy and right way? It's pretty simple and only requires ten minutes. You can actually choose from three tools: microwave, double boiler, or saucepan. For microwave, just place the chocolate block in a
dish and wait 1 to 2 minutes for each square to melt. If you are using a double boiler, just melt the chocolate on top pan under hot water. Stirring for about 10 minutes would hasten the melting process. Lastly, using the traditional saucepan is similar to the melting in a double broiler, which needs constant stirring. The only difference is you are melting the chocolate over direct heat.
Since moisture can make the chocolate lumpy, it would help to add a teaspoon of shortening per ounce of chocolate. Resume stirring so that the chocolate can remain soft and smooth.
