If cooking will be included in the Olympics as a sport, the judging of the sport will not involve the agility or stamina of the chef athletes, but on the food taste and presentation. To add some excitement, the chefs may also perform some dancing moves while cooking. However, cooking need not to be added to the Olympics for it to be recognized as a form of competition. There are annual events held by
gourmet food restaurants and hotel owners to showcase the respective skills of their chefs. Cooking competitions are also held to recruit potential chefs. The rules of cooking competition may vary. One cooking competition may simply present sets of ingredients and cooking tools and let the chefs decide what gourmet food recipe they want to cook. Other competitions may have specific categories such as
seafood recipe.
One example of a recipe that can be used in a cooking competition is the
Acapulco margarita grouper. You will grouper fillets, tequila, orange liquor, fresh lime juice, salt diced tomatoes, chopped onion, seeded and minced jalapeno, chopped fresh cilantro, sugar, salt olive oil and ground black pepper. Soak the fillet in the liquor mixture and refrigerate for half an hour. Preheat the grill for high heat. Mix the other ingredients in a bowl. Remove the filet from the marinade and boil the remaining marinade. Grill fish for four minutes. Pour marinade to the grilled fish.
