Chefs and Kitchen Tools

Kitchens of gourmet food restaurants will not produce quality food without the skillful chefs. Expert chefs are the gems of gourmet restaurants. The artistry of chefs gives distinctive identity to the restaurant. There are no food preparations which are exactly the same. Even same recipe preparations may be rendered differently depending on the mood and skills of the chef. A gourmet restaurant without chefs is like an orchestra with only instruments and no players. However, other aspects of a restaurant operation are also important, although still not as important as the chef. The quality of food preparation may also depend on the tools used in the kitchen. Even food outlets that do not require chefs, such as fast food franchise businesses, still rely on kitchen tools to operate. Fast food franchises may have factory-made food, but the cooking is still done onsite.

The basic cook tool is the stove. The stove may be electric or gas but the purpose is the same. Stoves are flexible tools which can accommodate different types of cooking ware such as frying pan, casserole, broiler, steamer, and sauce pans. A stove works by directly heating the bottom of cooking wares. The heat may come from flames or electrical heat coils. Nonetheless, the most energy efficient and cost-saving type of stove is gas stove fuelled by LPG.
