The
complete gourmet meal is consisted of appetizers, soup, main dish, salad, and dessert. The dessert is the finale which is sometimes the best part of a complete gourmet meal. Dessert indulges the senses and can make a dinner truly satisfying. Desserts are commonly sweet recipes that may range from a simple candy to cake. Most desserts such as cakes, pies, pastries and cookies are prepared through baking. Baking allows the starch of the aforementioned desserts to expand and create a distinctive taste that is appealing to the palate. Baking is done using an oven, either gas oven or
microwave oven. An oven allows the relatively equal distribution of heat to the food that is being baked.
Aside from the oven, other baking utensils are also used to mix and shape the food being baked. The tools that are used in baking can be as diverse and specialized as the tools used by a surgeon. Well, that is maybe exaggerating a little. The basic tools of baking are the dough rolling pin and the mixing bowl. The rolling pin is used in flattening and shaping the dough. Rolling pin is particularly useful in making pizza dough and cookies. Mixing bowl, on the other hand, is useful in mixing the other ingredients such as egg, sugar, milk and other flavoring into a homogenous mixture. Some other tools are piping tip set for designing,
croissant cutter for equally cutting dough designs and dough dockers for perforating dough to minimize bubbles in baking. Bakeware also include the different containers of all sizes from cup cake mold to cookies mold.
