Let's admit it, we can't always prepare fresh meals everyday. With our
hectic schedules and all, sometimes we need to eat the fast way. But, we shouldn't forget to prepare healthy meals. So, what's easy to cook but are still healthy? I have always resorted to canned tuna when I lack time to cook.
A
tuna casserole is just the answer. This is a quick and healthy meal everyone would love. What do we need to prepare a tuna casserole?
- one tablespoon of olive oil
- a half cup of diced onion
- one can of cream mushroom
- a half cup of diced celery
- eight ounces of peas
- six ounces of canned tuna (in oil or water, not drained)
- one cup of bread crumbs/crushed potato chips
- eight ounces of packed noodles (al dente or cooked)
You preheat your ovens to 400 degrees F. Apply some vegetable oil on your casserole dish or pan. Saute your onions and celery in a saucepan, with the olive oil on it. When the vegetables are mushy enough, put in the mushroom soup, water, and the peas. Let it simmer while stirring. When it's boiling already, put in the tuna with the liquid. You then add in the pasta. After this, you can already pour it in your prepared casserole. You can put the potato chips or bread crumbs on top. Bake it for 30 or 40 minutes. Then, you can enjoy your quick but
completely healthy meal.
