Germany is one of my favorite destinations in Europe. I have lots of German friends who shared many things about their culture and traditions. They even accompanied me in my
tour in Cologne and other cities. Aside from their warm welcome and beautiful attractions, I also enjoyed their foods including this potato salad that this friend of mine made for me. Before I left Germany, she told me how to cook this recipe.
3 sl Bacon; diced
1 Egg
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Sugar
1/8 ts Dry mustard
2 tb Vinegar
2 Cooked potatoes; diced
2 Eggs; hard boiled
1 sm Onion; chopped
To begin cooking this recipe, you have to put the bacon in a cold skillet and fry slowly until it is very crispy and brown. If they are crispy already, remove them from pan. Afterwards, beat the egg slowly and add vinegar and seasonings. Mix them well and gradually pour into bacon fat. Stir constantly and cook till smooth and thick. Now, pour the hot dressing over hot potatoes and mix quickly with the remaining ingredients and serve immediately.
According to my friend, it is best to serve while it is hot. So, what are waiting for, try this recipe from Germany and experience
German cuisine at its best. Like me, I am sure you will love it, too.
